BT21CN - The BT network is changing.
BT are upgrading their network infrastructure by replacing much of the existing hardware with new systems which will transport voice in IP packets. Now this might all sound like technical jargon so we have tried to answer some questions you might have.
How will this change affect me?
If you are an Overline Network One customer we will be notifying you before work starts in your area. While the changes are happening you may notice some loss of service during the early hours. No work is planned during working hours which should mean that most businesses will not be affected.
When will this happen?
It has already started. Some areas of South Wales are already converted and the midlands are currently be upgraded. Work is scheduled to start in the south east from April 2008 through to late 2010.
Do I need to change my phones? No. All phone systems supplied by Overline are compatible with the new technology. In fact all existing telephones, faxes and other analogue devices should not be affected.
Will it cost me anything?
No. There are currently no plans to change our pricing structure.
