118 045
The Angmering based children’s hospice, Chestnut Tree House, has teamed up with local telecoms company Overline to launch a new directory enquiries service. 118 045 will help the hospice, which receives little government funding, to meet the £2 million a year it needs just to survive.
Overline approached the hospice in October with the profit sharing idea. Ali Unsted, Community Fundraiser from Chestnut Tree House commented “We are delighted that Overline are helping us in this unique way and we can number them amongst our local supporters – they are phone-tastic new friends for Chestnut Tree House!
“Chestnut Tree house is the only children’s hospice in Sussex and provides care for children and young people with life limiting illnesses and support for their families. “This is a really exciting project for us and an extremely worthwhile cause. We hope that everyone in Sussex gets behind 118 045 and uses the service so we can make a real difference.”Said Jamie Ward, Marketing Manager at Overline.
Completed in 2003 the hospice provides a home from home environment with 10 children’s bedrooms plus 8 family rooms. The children also benefit from the hospice’s other rooms, which include a wet and dry play room, computer and music rooms, a multi sensory room and a hydrotherapy pool. The 118 045 mascot, a teddy called Oscar, is available free of charge from Overline and has been sent to local businesses to help launch the service. 118 045 costs 45p per call with no setup charge, texts are free of charge.
